Our Materials

Timeless Luxury Meets Conscious Craft

At the core of Shoosty® silk collections is 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk—the finest quality available, sourced from silkworms fed exclusively on white mulberry leaves, producing long, uniform fibers that deliver exceptional softness, strength, natural luster, and exquisite drape.

We offer a range of silk weights and weaves, from lightweight chiffon and habotai (8-12 momme) for ethereal flow, to luxurious satin and twill (14-30 momme) for structured elegance and vibrant print penetration, with options for double-sided designs featuring subtle chromatic shifts.

For cotton-based apparel and accessories, we select premium natural fibers like crisp poplin, breathable voile, and soft organic blends, while sustainability remains paramount: advanced digital printing with OEKO-TEX certified, eco-friendly inks ensures vivid, lasting colors, high-resolution detail, and minimal environmental impact through low-waste, on-demand production.

Trusted by Industry Leaders

•  “What intrigued me was this high-tech digitally created image was using silk as a canvas. I’m a textile person, so, you know, that hooked me right away. Just the idea of using this work to integrate science and art—that’s perfect for us. He has a love for learning, and his openness to integrating new ideas, you know, that’s the heart of an artist.”

Tamara Joy - Senior Curator, The Musuem of Arts and Sciences

“It makes me smile every time I’m in The Shoosty Bugs Gallery.”

Tabitha Schmidt - CEO, The Museum of Arts and Sciences

•  “Watching the Shoosty Bugs take flight has been a joy and a privilege. I can’t wait to see where Stephen takes them next. Stephen has a limitless imagination and creative drive that I have rarely encountered. It is with great respect that I wish him all the best in his bold journey as an artist.”

Chromatic Conversations: Where Art Meets Life

In the intimate studio of Stephen Shooster, each illustration begins as a private dialogue—between the artist and his lifelong muse, his wife, whose presence inspires the subtle chromatic shifts that dance across every scarf and garment.

When you choose a Shoosty® piece, the conversation continues: the meticulously engineered patterns come alive on your skin, turning everyday moments into a shared expression of beauty, precision, and joy.

This is where singular vision meets collective experience—art no longer confined to walls, but woven into life, inviting everyone who wears it to join an ongoing chromatic conversation between creator, companion, and wearer.

No middlemen

By working directly with you, we eliminate unnecessary markups and focus on what matters: offering thoughtfully designed, high-quality pieces at a fair price. A modern approach to fashion, rooted in transparency.

Our values

About us

From A to Z

Value

At Shoosty®, we are guided by a deep commitment to mastery and precision, treating art and design as lifelong crafts that demand patience, daily discipline, and meticulous attention to detail—like a Swiss watchmaker engineering timeless pieces.

Sustainability lies at our core; we honor ancient natural processes such as silkworm cultivation while embracing modern eco-friendly dyes and print-on-demand methods to minimize waste and protect the environment.

We believe in the transformative power of art to infuse joy and beauty into everyday life, creating chromatic fusions that elevate wearable pieces into masterpieces and invite wearers to embody creativity and freedom.

The design

Our design process at Shoosty® is a meticulous craft, akin to a Swiss watchmaker’s precision, where fine artist Stephen Shooster intimately engineers each illustration on his iPad Pro—building hypnotically from a single vector point to lines, shapes, and vibrant paintings that transform nature through collected historical patterns. Drawing inspiration like sunshine from the world, he creates dual masterpieces per scarf: identical designs on front and back with a subtle chromatic shift that highlights the exquisite workmanship and fusion of colors. These elevated scarves, the pinnacle of art and design, extend their patterns into timeless clothing and accessories, digitally printed on premium fabrics to let wearers embody the movement.

Materials

At the heart of Shoosty® pieces lies luxurious silk—one of the world’s most ancient and revered fabrics, produced by silkworms that feed exclusively on white mulberry leaves, yielding a natural protein fiber renowned for its luminous sheen and drape.

These meticulously crafted patterns are then digitally printed onto a variety of premium fabrics, from flowing silks and crisp linens to stretch blends, ensuring versatility across scarves, shirts, and accessories.

We prioritize sustainability with eco-friendly modern dyes and print-on-demand techniques that minimize waste, delivering vibrant, long-lasting art with a gentle environmental footprint.

The know-how

The know-how behind Shoosty® is rooted in founder Stephen Shooster’s lifelong mastery of art and technology—crafts refined over decades as a fine artist, luxury designer, author of 25 books, and technologist who patented innovations in computer telephony before retiring from leading a major call center.  Through daily exercises in meticulous writing and thinking on paper, he channels inspirations into structured ideas, authoring works like memoirs on freedom and history that inform his chromatic fusionism style. Untethered by the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, he doubles his creative screen time in a relaxed posture, hypnotically engineering vector illustrations from single points to intricate patterns that transform into wearable art and home designs.
